We’re proud to partner with Australian company Seabin Project, who are responsible for the creation of the ‘Sea bin’, a revolution in ocean cleaning technology that creates cleaner oceans with healthier marine life.

Each purchase of Ozeano sunglasses funds the operation of 1 Seabin to remove 12kg of plastic & marine litter from our oceans & waterways, which is equivalent to over 900 plastic bottles.

What is a Seabin?

The V5 Seabin unit is a floating debris interception device designed to be installed in the water of marinas, yacht clubs, ports and any water body with a calm environment and services available.

What can the Seabin catch?

The Seabin can catch an estimated 3.9 Kgs of floating plastics and debris per day, or 1.4 tons per year (depending on weather and debris volumes) including micro plastics down to 2 mm small.

How does it work?

The Seabin moves up and down with the range of tide collecting all floating rubbish. Water is sucked in from the surface and passes through a catch bag inside the Seabin, with a submersible water pump capable of displacing 25,000 liters per hour. The water is then pumped back into the marina leaving litter and debris trapped in the catch bag to be disposed of properly.

~12kg removed, how?

With every sale of Ozeano sunglasses, we donate a significant amount of the sale price to pay for the electricity and operational costs required to run a Seabin for 3 whole days, over which time the Seabin will collect, on average, 12kg of plastics and marine litter.
